How far is the Bridle Trail from the campground?

The end of the Red Trail actually runs directly behind our campground! (Buckskin Canyon loop) However, it can only be accessed by exiting our campground, turning left on Keifel Rd. travel about 0.10-mile, turn left to enter the RED Trail.

If you want to head to the State Horseman's Camp to enter the rest of the trail system...continue on the trail beside of Keifel Rd. for approximately 0.5-mile, turn left and go down over the hill to head towards our cabin "Trails Edge" (corner of Keifel Rd and Sowers Rd.) on the way to the Sate Horseman's Camp following the RED markings on the trees. The rest of the trial system can be accessed at the State Horseman's Camp.

This will be approximately a 3-mile ride. From the State Horseman's Camp, there are many miles of trails!!

What should I bring for my horses?

Bring everything that you normally would when you go trail riding. We do have potable water (supplied by a well), If your horse has a sensitive stomach, you may also want to bring water. Bring all muck tools, buckets, hoses, ropes, tie lines, clips. There are no tools at the corrals/stalls. Bring Shavings for bedding. Please NO STRAW!

It is also beneficial to download the bridle trail map to your phone before you come. A link is on our website. Cell service is limited on most of the trails. We sometimes run out of maps to give out due to high demand, please do not rely on us Soley for your maps (sometimes we run out of maps).

Can I stay in one of the cabins and still bring my horse (s)?

YES! We have a tie out near the Dogwood Cabin. There is room by the Buckeye Cabin to bring your own tie out for that one. We have new stalls located near the cabins. There are 4 for the Buckeye and 2 for the Dogwood Cabins. If you need more stalls, contact us before booking to check availability.

Parking at the cabins is limited to one vehicle and no trailer access. This means if you bring a horse trailer, you will have to disconnect and park it in our parking area reserved for those trailers near the office. This location is about 200' from the cabins.

I have a tent but want a site with electric and water, can I reserve an RV site?

Yes, you can reserve an RV site and put up your tent. Some sites are better than others to put up a tent. If you have questions, please reach out to us.

Can we tent camp and bring horses to tie out/High Line?

This answer is a little more complex. We will do our best to accommodate each guest. Our tent area is limited to one vehicle and no room for a trailer. Trailers will have to be unhooked and moved to our overflow area. A couple of tent sites could work to tie the horses out, but they are limited. Please reach out to us directly to work out a solution to this question.

Parking:

All sites have room for One (1) vehicle per site. Additional vehicles/trailers may park at our overflow area. A staff member will direct you on where to park additional vehicles/trailers etc. You may purchase another site for additional parking.
